A gifted natural athlete, were he not a professional surfer, one could easily imagine San Diego’s Taylor Knox excelling at any number of other sports. As one of the core members of the early-90’s New School movement, Taylor surfed his way onto the radar through a number of highly-charged video appearances. In 1998, Taylor suddenly jumped into the spotlight by paddling in to a monster wave at Todos Santos to win the inaugural Billabong Big-Wave Challenge. From there, Taylor worked his way on to the WCT circuit where he remains a popular figure with his fellow competitors.
